The Challenge

CashPoint needed to serve customers seamlessly across mobile, web, and in-shop channels, but each environment came with fundamentally different constraints. Retail betting terminals ran on legacy hardware with severely limited compute and memory, ruling out a standard rich-client build, while odds, balances, and bet states still needed to stay perfectly synchronized in real time across every terminal, mobile device, and web session simultaneously. Any latency or inconsistency between channels risked a mismatched bet or balance, an unacceptable outcome in a regulated betting environment.

Our Execution

We engineered a lightweight console betting platform running on an intermediate OS layer, purpose-built to operate within the terminals' constrained compute and memory footprint. State changes, bets, balances, and odds updates were handled through a request-and-reply protocol designed for reliability over unstable or intermittent connections, ensuring every terminal stayed consistent even under network strain. In parallel, we built responsive mobile and web applications wired into the same backend, keeping every channel, terminal, mobile, and web, in live, authoritative sync at all times.
